Integriculture to Sell Cellular Agriculture Starter Kits for the First Time Overseas๏ฝKit from โOcattรฉ Baseโ to go Overseas
IntegriCulture, a company aiming to commercialize cellular agriculture, announced on August 18, 2025, that it has begun test sales of a cellular agriculture starter kit targeting four universities overseas. This marks the companyโs first overseas sales of the starter kit.
The starter kit was developed in collaboration with Sumitomo Riko and combines four food-grade raw materials and culture bags available on the B2B marketplace โOcattรฉ Baseโ launched last year .
The kits were delivered to the National University of Singapore for cellular agriculture research and shipped to Brown University, Johns Hopkins University, and the Polytechnic University of Turin as prizes for the winners of the international student competition โFood4Thought.โ According to the company, even when producing cultivated meat in gram quantities, specialized bioreactors and advanced cultivation techniques were previously required, posing significant barriers to research and development.
With this kit, gram-level trial production is now possible in existing laboratory environments, making it easier to conduct prototyping to verify commercial viability.
Additionally, this month, IntegriCulture announced the registration of โCELLAMENT (CELLAMENT),โ a cosmetic raw material made from cell culture supernatant derived from cultured egg cells, as a cosmetic ingredient in South Korea. This paves the way for the development of cosmetics using CELLAMENT and OEM orders in South Korea, opening up new overseas markets.

The New Protein Revolution Born in the Lab โ How the Climate Crisis Is Transforming Our Tables (2)
The food we encounter every day is more than just a means of survivalโit is a reflection of culture, identity, and our future. Today, the most pressing question on our plates is no longer about new recipes or restaurants, but about the โproteins of the future.โ
What kind of meat, bread, and snacks will our children be eating 30 years from now? Lab-grown meat, crispy insect dishes, and alternative proteins are no longer the stuff of science fiction. Humanityโs dining table is quietly but profoundly preparing for a new wave of innovation.
Cultivated meat and insect-based foods may still feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable. Yet throughout history, new foods have always arrived with curiosity and doubt. Potatoes and tomatoes, once shunned as poisonous, are now staples of diets worldwide.
Likewise, the next generation may see โlab-grown meatโ and โinsect protein snacksโ as completely ordinary. In the end, what truly matters will be the values food carries and its sustainabilityโthe timeless truth of every table.

Jeff Bezos-Backed Cultivated Salmon Begins Commercial Rollout in the U.S.
High-end restaurants across the U.S. are increasingly serving lab-grown salmon in place of farmed or wild-caught fish, according to a recent report by Hyperfresh.com, a news and entertainment outlet popular with Gen Z and millennials.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted approval for Wildtypeโs cultivated salmon after conducting eight rounds of safety reviews since June 2022. With this, Wildtype became the fourth cultivated protein company to receive FDA approval in the U.S., following cultivated chicken makers Upside Foods and Good Meat, as well as Mission Barns, a producer of cultivated pork fat.
Unlike cultivated chicken and beef, which require approval from both the FDA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), cultivated fish falls solely under the FDAโs jurisdictionโallowing for a relatively faster approval process and market entry.

India Opens First Animal Stem Cell Biobank, With Cultivated Meat A Key Focus
Indiaโs cultivated meat industry just got a big boost, with a first-of-a-kind animal stem cell biobank listing proteins as a key priority. India has opened its first animal stem cell biobank at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad, earmarking cultivated protein production as a major focus.
The centre was inaugurated by science and technology minister Jitendra Singh last weekend, and is aimed at revolutionising animal health, regenerative medicine, and agricultural productivity, in line with the countryโs growing emphasis on biotech.
The laboratory will provide high-quality stem cells of various animal origins, as well as indigenous, cost-effective culture media, to research institutions, veterinary clinics, hospitals, and industry. It will support disease modelling, reproductive biotechnology, and tissue regeneration, with plans to expand under the National Biopharma Mission for biobanking animal stem cells and their derivatives. |

Cutting Meat Consumption by 10% Could Reduce Groundwater Pollution by Up to 20%
A new study has found that simply reducing meat consumption in the U.S. could help mitigate groundwater pollution and secure safer drinking water. In particular, replacing just 10% of meat intake in the average diet with alternative proteins was shown to significantly improve water quality.
Fertilizers used in livestock feed production and animal manure have long been identified as major sources of nitrate contamination in groundwater. Recent modeling simulations revealed that shifting 10% of U.S. meat consumption to alternative proteinsโsuch as plant-based, insect-based, or cultivated meatโcould lower groundwater nitrate levels by up to 20%.
According to the analysis, a 10% reduction in meat consumption would cut fertilizer use by about 3.4%, reduce manure production by 10.7%, and decrease water usage by roughly 4.5%. If such changes were scaled up to 50%, groundwater quality could improve in about 60% of regions across the U.S., with particularly strong impacts expected in areas with intensive agricultural activity.
