"Thinking About Going Vegan?"βMZ Generation Focuses on Plant-Based Alternatives
Recently, a 30-year-old woman, Ms. A, who had been exploring healthy eating options, shared her experience with plant-based alternatives. As she entered her 30s and began focusing more on her health, Ms. A discovered plant-based foods. After hearing that these alternatives could support her health goals, she started incorporating them into her diet, replacing regular pasta with soy noodles and switching from dairy milk to almond milk.
While there are factors to consider before opting for plant-based alternatives, experts believe these products offer health and weight management benefits compared to animal-based options. This has led the food industry to view the future of plant-based foods with optimism.
Professor Kim Eun-jin noted that the rising interest in health and environmental consciousness will likely drive further demand for plant-based products. She also pointed out that major food companies and startups are actively investing in the development of plant-based alternatives, forecasting the release of more advanced products in the near future.

"What Does Seaweed Ham Taste Like?"βThe Rise of Blue Food as a Future Diet
Seafood, whether farmed or wild-caught, known as "blue food," is gaining attention as a future dietary solution. As its value for food security and healthy diets becomes more apparent, global investment in the blue food industry is expanding.
Blue food began to draw significant international interest after a 2021 editorial in the journal Nature highlighted its potential. The growing consensus suggests a need to shift away from a meat-centric food system, emphasizing the sustainable production capabilities of blue food.
In particular, seaweed-based meat alternatives and cell-cultured foods are being developed to enhance future food technology and secure global competitiveness in the blue food sector. Several domestic startups are already producing seaweed-based meat substitutes, aiming to expand Koreaβs blue food industry on a global scale.

β¨Julie | When we think of lab-grown meat, most of us immediately think of traditional meats. But did you know that seafood can also be cultivated as lab-grown meat? πββοΈ
π¦Rio | It's fascinating how far food technology has come! Lab-grown seafood could be a game changer for sustainability and reducing overfishing. I'm excited to see how these innovations will shape our future diets.
πWendy l Iβve recently started noticing more plant-based alternatives, too. I tried kelp noodles and tofu tenders out of curiosity, and they turned out to be surprisingly delicious! Now, I eat them regularly. You should give plant-based meals a try, too!
